Room tour: my office

1

When we moved to our current apartment, I was excited to finally have my own office. Back in Caracas my office was in the middle of the hallway (remember this post?) and in our last apartment I had a microscopic one. Well… I think I have upgraded myself to a more office-like space and I love the natural light that this room has. We are renting and that is why I don’t have anything hanging on the walls.

This room is my office and my “beauty room”; I have a working space and a vanity table. I also store my bags, shoes and jewelry so this brings more color to the room. Should I point out that Nina always is by my side? She keeps me company every time I am in here. ❤

My bags were thrown inside my closet and they kept losing its form. So my mom gave me the idea of buying a hat/coat rack and hanging them instead. I bought mine in Ikea.

June: 5 things that make this month amazing

For me May is an exciting month because I know that June is going to arrive soon with my birthday in it and the lovely warm weather. I am excited to spend my birthday in Greece and that I get to travel not only for business but also for pleasure.

May has been packed with tons of work and new exciting projects. My parents and my sister are coming to visit! I just can’t sleep counting the days until they arrive!

I can’t be more grateful for all that is happening: I finally finished the first draft of my book! I have been working so hard on it and finally it has some kind of structure. I battled with ideas and got inspired with a new ending. It’s a fiction novel that I have been working on in the past two years. I have really no idea when it will come out (or if it will ever come out) but I have my hopes high that someday it might.

1) Celebrating my birthday on June 5th.

I have to go to Greece to start an exciting project that we are working on (more details in the next couple of months) and I will get to spend my birthday with my family in Greece. How fun is that?! I have never spent a birthday there and I think it is going to be amazing having my grandmother and my family next to me.

2) Finishing the first draft of my book.

It may sound crazy, but I have developed a very strong relationship with my main character Thomas. So when the last page was being written I felt I was loosing something very close to me (I tried to explain this to Jimmy but he looked at me like I had lost my mind).

3) Finally going to the beach.

We managed to squeeze in a little weekend get-away to Valencia last week since the weather was getting warmer. Unfortunately when we arrived the water was really cold but we got to soak in some sun and unplug ourselves from work for two days. I am thrilled for my trip to Greece because I will definitely make time to go to the beach and swim a lot!

4) Mastering my paleo bibimbap recipe.

Jimmy loves this dish and after reading tons of recipes, I finally found the one that we both like. I make his with rice and I make mine with cauliflower rice so it’s paleo. This month I want to master the recipe and invite some friends over to try this veggie filled plate. Obviously the recipe is coming soon to The Golden Limoncello!

5) Flowers everywhere.

We went to see the annual rose contest at La Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste. It was spectacular and breath-taking. I think this is officially my favorite place in Madrid.

May you all have a lovely month! 🙂

Some time for myself: my day though my Iphone

Yesterday was one of those unexpected “free-days” and I took advantage of it doing what I like. Here is my day through my Iphone.

1) 6:00 AM. First thing in the morning (after two glasses of water) is my needed coffee.

day 1

2) 6: 30 AM. My quick breakfast: “fried” eggs. (They are not actually fried. I used no oil since I have a fantastic nonstick pan.)

day 2

3) 8:00 AM. Morning run: 45 min of cardio to burst up my energy for the day.

day 3

4) 9:20 AM. Home, shower and get dressed to go out. (I was fully dressed when I took this pic, I promise).

day 5

5) 10:40 AM. No going to the office or the studio today so I thought it would be nice to visit my parents. (Random pic before stepping into the elevator.)

day 4

6) 11:30 AM. Arrived at my parents and had coffee with my mom since my dad wasn’t home. This has to be one of the prettiest views to have while drinking coffee.

day 7

7) 1:10 PM. Had lunch with my mom.

day 8

8) 3:00 PM. Went to my old room to organize some documents and Nina kept me company (she is camouflaged by my pants).

day 9

9) 4:35 PM. Arrived home to study for a couple of hours.

day 10

10) 6:20 PM. Packed my weekend getaway bag.

day 11

11) 7:00 PM. Baked next week’s Culinary Tuesday tutorial. Yummy recipe coming next week.

day 12

12) 8:30 PM. Had steak tartare for dinner. This was SO good. Thank you Jimmy.

day 14

13) 9:45 PM. Worked on the blog and checked my emails. Then went straight to bed.
