When I broke my arm I had a lot of spare time to think and write (with one hand obviously). In the last six months I had been writing and writing but when I went to record what I had in paper…I realized that I had a bunch of deep and sad songs (honestly I was kind of feeling that way).
So one day in the studio we decided it was time to cheer ourselves up and Jimmy came up with the “Bailame” beat. Together we sat down and in one hour we had the promo song ready. That is the amazing thing about music; you never know when the inspirational muse visits you.
We filmed the video in different days; we had the studio day, the chroma day, the details footage day and the black background day. The behind the scenes video I am about to share is just from one of those days. I hope to share the music video really soon with you guys because I am dying for you to see it! Until then…here it is:
I have to confess that Winter 2015-2016 was not that bad this year in Spain. I haven’t figured out if it the new apartment’s heating system or that this winter was not as bad as the last one.
Enough said about Winter and let us welcome Spring. First of all I already have my bucket list written down for this season and second of all I am über excited about putting away my coat. There is something magical about taking out clothes I love that I haven’t worn in a while. You have to see me “unpacking” the spring/summer clothing it feels like Christmas all over again… I am like “oh this is cute” and “oh I forgot I had this cool piece here”.
My Spring bucket list:
- Terrace make-over
- Spring cleaning (yup I do look forward to this)
- Buying more flowers
- Picnic in the park
- Spring color nails
- Outdoor planting
- Donating clothes
As for what has been going on lately, I want to share 5 things that are feeling a lot like…Spring.
1) Light colored nails while writing some new lyrics and adding chapters to my book.
2) I did cut my hair a month ago and it grew so fast. I think I am going to be needing another haircut before Summer.
3) Baking some paleo cinnamon banana-apple pie. I think this will be a good tutorial in the near future for the blog. (Btw: It was so yummy)
4) New photo shoot by “House of Flow”. Can’t wait to share it soon!
5) We have a new recording booth at our home! More lyrics, more music!
February was wonderful.
That being said, I have to confess that this month brought so many good memories that I am reminiscing of the days that went by so fast and left behind a trail of new and wonderful experiences.
I went to Zürich, then Kreuzinger for the SRF Switzerland Eurovision Final 2016. Our song was not the winner on the show but I can’t be more grateful that we made it to the top 6. Stanley’s performance of “Feel the love” and Adele’s “Hello” was marvelous. We had a blast with the Zürich Gospel Choir that accompanied Stanley on stage. I definitely would love to go back someday and repeat the experience. I got to meet Conchita Würst and got to see her perform live on the show: no words to how amazing she is.
I want to add that I promised myself that whatever happens I would enjoy every part of the trip and I did. This experience brought me closer to why I do what I do: the amazing feeling of sharing music with the world. I always followed the ESC when I was a little girl and I never thought in a million years I would be part of it.
I am extremely grateful with our producer William Luque for including me in this project; he believe we could and we did. Stanley did an excellent job performing our song and also the cover song of Adele’s “Hello” produced by Swiss producer Pele Loriano. The Zurich Gospel choir helped so much in the contest and I want to specially thank them for trusting us: you guys were amazing. Big thank you to Peter Werder for his amazing help and also for his friendship.

I just want to take a minute and thank my landlord for having an air conditioning system in her apartment. I am not kidding when I say that I would probably melt if it wasn’t for it. But that being said, this summer has been packed with tons of activities and lovely events!
1) Finding the juiciest cherries in the world
2) Precious moments with my sister Stefi who came to visit alongside my parents and Nina
3) Recording the new album with Jimmy, this project is very personal and I am loving every step of the way
4) Late night games: my dad crushing us all in Scala 40
5) This two girls coming to visit! My mafia: Valentina and Carola. We went to school together and every time we meet is pure fun!
6) In this pic my dear friend’s Maria T wedding and next to her my fun girl Luisa! Still can’t believe this day, we had such an incredible time!
7) One word: Frappe
How’s your summer so far? Let me know! ❤
(This picture is from our trip to Greece in June)
It’s been almost a year since I left my old home in Venezuela and moved to Spain. I remember all the stress and chaotic moments involved. Everything has changed so much since last year, that I have no words to describe how blessed and grateful I am to be here.
This last six months have been a real challenge. We were flirting with the idea of moving to Barcelona because we got a real good offer to sign our music and make some more videos there, but Madrid was holding my hand really tightly and I felt I did not give this amazing city a real chance. Jimmy and I discussed this back and forth until a lovely event made our decision easier: we found an amazing producer and started recording our new album right away.
After searching like crazy for a new apartment, we finally found one with an elevator and a big balcony. Late this month we will move and I can’t wait to show you guys the before and after of the place.
So don’t think for a second I have forgotten about my blog and all of you who make it possible. The Golden Limoncello is getting tons of new posts and lots of giggles and smiles.
Madrid….you haven’t seen the best of me.
I hope you guys are having a lovely Summer ❤
“I feel the fire…when we collide…don’t ever let me go, we’re here to start the show…you take me higher…”
Oh you have no idea how I was anxiously waiting for the release of this song. We recorded this just before moving to Madrid and I remember all the chaos around it. I am so happy it is ready now and I can share it with you guys. I love this song because it really takes me “higher”, it also reminds me of good changes and to take risks more often.
Jimmy’s beats are awesome, I love how he gets into my mind and reads exactly what I like in a song. Carlos Navarrete (NVR), our dear friend, helped us with the music and I have to say we did have a lot of fun between takes and studio sessions (specially my awesome cooking afterwards).
I can’t wait to show you the music video and share with you some more fun stuff.
Let me know if you guys like it!
I think this is the first time in the last month where I sat in an actual chair, took a sip of coffee and opened my blog. These last couple of days have been a mad, crazy, chaos. I am packing everything, leaving our apartment, recording new music and shooting a video.
Not to mention my constant panic and anxiety attacks.
I am loving it though. It may sound crazy but I think this drastic change is wonderful. It may seem a little weird but I have a lot of energy lately. (Except at the end of the video shoot when I did faint.)
So enough of the complains and let’s talk about the new video clip!
Fun, fun and more fun. We didn’t have the luxury of organizing and preparing the mega production for the video and we had to improvise along the shooting. But it came out pretty cool. We laughed and had fun. This is one of the things I enjoy the most.
The video will be ready in a couple of months. I wanted to tell you guys I am still here. I have not taken a vacation or a time out. I am working and working and soon I will share more exciting news! Hopefully “The Golden Limoncello” will soon get back on track.
Have a wonderful weekend!
